Ok, so am I about to show my ignorance… probably. But I’ll
say it anyway. I had no idea that there were different ways to make guacamole.
I think my favorite part of this dining experience was that discovery. We tried two wonderful preparations, one
sweet and one savory. I have every intention of returning and trying out some
of the others. Another neat part of this
experience was that we went as part of a large group, which those of you who
have been following us know is not the norm when we are to write a review on a
restaurant, nonetheless is always fun. This restaurant has beautiful décor. I
am a color girl and this space is wall to wall color. Beautiful blues, yellows
and oranges mixed with dark wood. The water in the glasses appears to have a
blue tint. We could not figure out if this was because of the blue ceiling or a
blue rim around the bottom of the glass. Not that it really matters, but if you
go, shoot us a line and let us know what you think J. This place has a wonderful
party atmosphere, perfect for big gatherings, I think, with a wide open spaces,
filled with tables, the sections delineated not by walls but by changes in
elevation. One thing that you must
remember before eating here is that this is more your traditional Mexican food,
rather than the Tex-Mex Americanized kind, so if you are looking for those
sorts of strong, bite you back flavors indicative of that sort of Mexican, you
may be disappointed, as while still flavorful, many of the dishes here are on
the mild, fresh side. Overall, I give this restaurant ♪♪♪ as the food is good, solid fare and the
servers are friendly and attentive, neither crowding you nor leaving you to
your own devices for hours on end.

Mari Luna Bistro Overall Rating
We would like to start with a small disclaimer. All comments on and views of this restaurant are
not just ours but are also the comments of our friends who joined us on this
great eating expedition. One friend commented
that Mari Luna Bistro brings sophistication to Mexican cuisine. We have to agree. The food was diverse and creative. The chef had traditional items like burritos
and tacos but their presentation was unique and fun. Color and vibrancy are truly the theme of
this restaurant. When you walk in you
are struck by the bright, beautiful atmosphere.
The multi-dining levels add to
the ambiance. This would be a perfect restaurant
for parties, family gatherings or a night out with friends. It would also be a great date spot. If you are catching a show at the Meyerhoff, Lyric
or the lesser known Baltimore Theater Project (45 W. Preston Street), this is a
great spot to eat at before or after as it is in close proximity to all three. Parking is a major issue. They do not have valet parking so you must
find a spot on the street. Overall we
think that you will greatly enjoy your dining experience here. We give Mari Luna Bistro and overall rating of ♪♪♪.

Republic Noodle Organic Wasabi Deviled Eggs
Strangely enough this dish was a bit of fabulosity in an otherwise dreary dining experience. Kudos! The eggs were creamy and smooth, the wasabi hitting moments after the first bite, leaving a fresh, suprising finish on the palette.
Republic Noodle JM Clayton Maryland Blue Crab Egg Roll
Big name... little flavor. This egg roll had a very subtle flavor. We greatly enjoyed the crunchy crust reminiscent of the McDonald's Apple Pie Crust from back in the day. The ponzu-scallion dipping sauce added a bit of spice and flair.
