Much thanks to Rachel and Thai Arroy. This might just be my favorite Thai restaurant ever and boy have we done some comparison-shopping. Now part of the reason I am so enthusiastic about this restaurant is because I finally found what I’d been searching for here. Years ago when I was working in Virginia, I went to lunch with a coworker at a Thai restaurant whose name I cannot for the life of me remember, and had THE BEST Thai fried rice dish, which was moist and spicy and delicious and filled with huge, tender pieces of seafood; mussels, shrimp and calamari … um, um good. Now I must tell you that I have been searching high and low for fried rice that good ever since and I haven’t had any luck whatsoever. I have had some of the worse Thai fried rice EVER in my search and had lost all hope. Well, this night I learned that one should never lose hope. As the bible says, seek and ye shall find. I found it, I found it, I found it (happy dance). The Thai fried rice here is the BOMB. Even better in fact, as they have like 6 different choices of preparation as well as a choice of like 6 different toppings, such as seafood mix, shrimp, beef, pork of shrimp. There is nothing I like better than options. Additionally, they have really good Thai iced tea and mango and sticky rice, as all Thai restaurants should (but might not). And the service here was quite good. Our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable and very helpful. There was a bit of a language barrier, but that did not stop her from giving good advice and service. I really enjoyed myself here. As a matter of a fact, I am sort of craving that fried rice right now. I give Thai Arroy ♪♪♪♪.
