Sascha's Roasted Garlic Flan

Ok, foodies know that flan is usually a sweet custard like dessert covered in a caramelized sugar sauce.  The chefs at Sascha's decided to make their flan savory by flavoring it with garlic and caramelized onions.  It sounds like it could be terrible but it truly was far from terrible.  It was by far one of the most creative culinary feats we have ever experienced.  The flavor and texture was insanely good.  The caramelized onions added the perfect amount of sweetness.  The balsamic syrup that replaced the caramelized sugar sauce was so rich and decedent.  This is a must try on the menu.
